Something to Bragg About
Well done, Melvyn
BBC radio host Melvyn Bragg is stepping away from the mic after a nearly 27-year run with his phenomenal “In Our Time” radio program.
If you’re a history buff, you really should do yourself a favor and listen to it via your favorite podcast platform.
With 1,086 episodes at present count, you surely will find something that strikes your fancy.
Bragg, who has been with the BBC since 1961, “will continue to be a friend of Radio 4 with more to come to celebrate his extraordinary career, and a new series in 2026 (details to be announced soon),” the network’s website reported Wednesday.
As for “In Our Time,” the show will go on, just with another host (or presenter as the Brits call them), who has yet to be named.
Whoever that host will be, however, will have big shoes to fill.
Here’s wishing Mr. Bragg all the best in his future pursuits.
